About guttering, fascias & soffits

Gutters and fascias are the unglamorous parts of a roof that quietly protect everything else. Overflowing or sagging gutters soak walls, rot fascia boards and cause the damp patches that appear at the top corners of rooms. The roofers and roofline specialists in our network repair leaking joints and realign falls, replace complete gutter runs in uPVC or metal, and renew fascias and soffits — including replacing rotten timber boards with maintenance-free uPVC, correctly ventilated so the loft keeps breathing.

How we help

Find Trusted Roofers is a national network that connects UK homeowners with local roofers. We are not a roofing contractor and we don't do the work ourselves — instead, you tell us about your gutters & fascias job once, and we match you with a roofer in our network who covers your postcode and works on your roof type. Every roofer quotes from their own survey; you deal directly with them and choose whether to proceed.

We check the roofers in our network against Companies House, confirm public liability insurance, and note any TrustMark, NFRC or CompetentRoofer membership. We verify what we can — we don't guarantee the work, which is contracted directly between you and the roofer.

Available across the UK

We connect homeowners with local roofers offering gutters & fascias in towns and cities across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Browse areas we cover.

Guttering, Fascias & Soffits — FAQs

How much does new guttering cost?
Replacing the gutters on a typical semi runs around £500–£900 in uPVC, more in cast-iron-style aluminium. Individual repairs — a leaking union, a re-aligned run, replacement brackets — are often under £150.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Once a year for most homes, twice if you're under trees. Blocked gutters are the single cheapest roof problem to prevent and one of the most expensive to ignore once water starts tracking into the fascia and wall.
What are fascias and soffits, and why do they rot?
The fascia is the vertical board carrying the gutter; the soffit is the horizontal board underneath. Timber versions rot when gutter overflows soak them repeatedly. Replacement in uPVC removes the maintenance, provided the installer includes proper eaves ventilation.
Can you replace fascias without replacing the roof?
Yes — fascia and soffit replacement is standard standalone work. The bottom row of tiles is lifted, boards swapped, eaves felt renewed if perished, and ventilation strips fitted. One to two days for most houses.
Why does water drip behind my gutter?
Usually the eaves felt has perished, so water runs down behind the gutter instead of into it. Fitting eaves protector trays under the bottom tile course is the standard fix and is inexpensive when done alongside other roofline work.
